WellBeing Team

The Wellbeing Team at Aramoho Health Centre provides accessible, compassionate support as part of the Integrated Primary Mental Health and Addiction service (IPMHA), under New Zealand’s Access and Choice programme. Our team—two Health Improvement Practitioners and a Health Coach—works alongside your GP and nurse to support your wellbeing in ways that are practical, collaborative, and tailored to your needs.

Whether you’re navigating low mood, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, parenting concerns, or health-related changes, we offer a variety of brief to medium-term options: walk-in support, scheduled one-on-one sessions, virtual appointments, and group programmes. We’re here to help you make meaningful changes in a way that works for you, with the support of your wider healthcare team.

Meet the team

Tyler

Health & Wellbeing Coach, Wellbeing Team Lead

Tyler supports people holistically, recognising that mental, social, spiritual, and physical wellbeing are all connected. As part of the Access & Choice programme, he works alongside people to strengthen their wellbeing, navigate life’s challenges, and explore practical strategies that fit their unique needs and goals.

With a background in trauma-informed practice, Tyler has a special interest in supporting rainbow and neurodiverse communities. His approach is friendly, real, and grounded in creating a space where people feel genuinely heard and accepted. He draws on CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based and somatic approaches to support wellbeing.

Originally from rural Aotearoa, Tyler moved to Whanganui five years ago and now happily shares life with his black Labrador, who enjoys a good bedtime story.

Natalie

Health Improvement Practitioner

Natalie brings a background in nursing and community mental health to her role as a Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP). She works within the Access & Choice community to support mental and physical wellbeing, offering brief interventions, behavioural support, and practical tools to help people move forward.

Natalie is passionate about creating a safe, welcoming space for everyone. Compassionate and down-to-earth, she aims to help people feel relaxed, heard, and empowered to explore their wellbeing in a way that works for them.

Jayne

Health Improvement Practitioner

Jayne has a background as a Registered Nurse and works along side our AHC community to improve their overall wellbeing by providing support, guidance and follow up for any health difficulties or concerns that they may have.

Jayne offers 30 minute sessions., and in partnership with the patient explores what they would most like help with, and assists to develop a plan to enhance wellbeing. This may include education, problem solving or referrals to other services.

Jayne provides a relaxed safe space, where you are heard and supported.
